This solicitation invites applications for loan guarantees from the DOE in support of debt financing for projects that constitute new or significantly improved technologies.  Loan guarantees are intended to facilitate accelerated commercialization of energy efficiency, renewable energy and advanced transmission and distribution technologies.  An eligible project is a project located in the United States that employs a new or significantly improved technology that is not a commercial technology. DOE will consider projects from the following technology categories: Alternative Fuel Vehicles; Biomass; Efficient Electricity Transmission, Distribution and Storage; Energy Efficient Building Technologies and Applications; Geothermal; Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies; Energy Efficiency Projects; Solar; Wind and Hydropower.  Interested parties should check the website of the U.S. Department of Energy for complete details and examples of eligible projects.

Section 1512 of the Recovery Act requires extensive reporting from the prime recipients of Federal funding. Such recipient is required to report to DOE information relating to, among other things, numbers of jobs created and retained by the project, ten (10) days after the end of each calendar quarter.

An eligible applicant under this Solicitation includes any Applicant (as defined in Section 609.2 of the Final Regulations) seeking a loan guarantee under Section 1703 of Title XVII for an Eligible Project under this Solicitation.
