Program Funding
National Total $120 million
NYS Share $1,568,423 (actual)
Flow of Funds Approximately, 22 percent of total SCSEP federal funding is allocated by formula to the states. Approximately, 78 percent of the total SCSEP federal funding is allocated to national organization sponsors through a RFP. NYSOFA funds are provided to area agencies on aging SCSEP programs based on a USDOL mandated equitable distribution formula of trainee slots that takes into account the location of the national organization sponsors trainee slots throughout the State. It balances out inequities in counties not served or underserved by the national organization sponsors.
Deadline ASAP – no obligation deadline was stated but expenditures incurred between 2/17/09 and 6/30/10 are allowable. NYSOFA received its award on 3/17/09. USDOL expects the program to begin as close to April 1, 2009, as possible.
